Man Running in the Mist

CONVENTIONS

Spy action and adventure

Urban View

- The Temptress: A beautiful women who either acts as a protagonist or antagonist.

- The Villain: The antagonist, the one who the main character is fighting against.

- The Sidekick: The helper of the hero, they perform acts with the main character to fight off the villain.

- Danger/Shock: A theme of suspense, adventure, and danger. There is also quite often a theme of shock, where no one expected a scene to happen.

- A false ending: When viewers or readers think it is the ending, but something goes wrong and there is a twist in events.

- Secrecy: There is always a high level of secrecy and suspense.

- Excitement: There is a lot of adventure and action scenes that create excitement.

- Working institutions: The police, military, or government usually have a role in these genres.

- The Hero: The hero is the main character and the main spy who fights for the better.

- Action: In these genres, there is also a lot of action. This action can be fights, conspiracy, shoot outs, hide outs, and much more.

This scene is from one of my favorite shows, Burn Notice. In this scene, Michael tries to save a very special person to him, Fiona. In these scene rogue military agents are involved. The temptress (Fiona) is also involved. There is also a lot of action in this scene, involving a major shoot out. In the end, the police become involved (working institutions) and arrest Fiona. Michael is the hero in this scene. This scene also involves danger, excitement, a false ending, and a villain.

This scene found on youtube is also one of my favorite shows. This show is called Nikita. It is a spy and action thriller because it shows a rogue Spy, Nikita, trying to take down an "dangerous" organization that she was once a part of. Nikita can be seen as the temptress and the hero. There is a lot of suspense in this scene when Michael (part of the organization) finds out where Nikita lives. Michael turns from the antagonist to the sidekick during the span of the show. There is also a false ending in this scene, viewers might think that Nikita is done for.

This is a scene from "The Americans" in season six, episode 10. This scene involves a lot of secrecy and suspense. The man who is yelling at the couple and their daughter is a FBI agent (working institution), who is also this couples neighbor. This couple are undercover KGB agents residing in America. This scene also involves a lot of danger with their daughter being caught in the crossfire and the threat of the gun.

The Bourne Identity is also a novel about a man who has to memory. This book also involves special abilities, he was pulled from the sea covered in bullet holes, got plastic surgery, a microfilm chip was implanted in his body. This book creates a lot of suspense, the reader does not even know the main characters name. There is also a lot of danger and action in this book, many people are after this protagonist.

In "Get Smart", the newer version of the original "Get Smart," is showing a very action packed but comical scene from the earlier part of the movie. This scene involves two spies, a villain, and a very pretty woman. In this scene, there is danger presented in a funny way with Maxwell Smart trying to get the cuffs off his hand. He than skydives out of the plane, with the second more experienced spy (Agent 99) following him, and than the villain.

Hitman: Agent 47 was a film that was aired in 2015. This movie involves spies that were made since they were little kids to have special abilities. The women is the temptress and the one trying to be saved. It is unclear at this point which guy is the antagonist and which is the protagonist which creates suspense. It becomes clear only about thirty minutes later that "Agent 47" is the hero, not the other guy. There is also a lot of action in this scene in a public place, which leads the pair to be held in a working institution. There are many elements of danger, action, and excitement in this scene.

This spy book has a head female as the spy. This book involves a lady who has no recollection of her past as a CIA agent. This creates a lot of secrecy and suspense in the book. This book also creates a lot of danger. A assassin is after her and she has no recollection of who to trust and not to trust.

In "At Risk" by Stella Rimington, there is a terrorist targeting Britain. There is a lot of secrecy and suspense on who this terrorist is, the terrorist is "invisible." This book involves a female spy as the main character and the hero going against this villain. This book is known to give a lot of suspense and involves a working institution as part of British Intelligence.

This scene is from "Skyfall." This is a James Bond movie that was produced in 2012. This is a very action packed scene. There is also a copious amount of danger in this scene. There is a subway car that literally flies straight at James Bond and he escapes it in the knick of time. James Bond is the hero is these genres. There are also many villains in then James Bond series.

This Youtube clip is of "Blacklist" a very action packed and suspenseful series that involves a lot of secrecy. At first, Red is presented as a villain, this is soon to change to one of the heroes. The woman, Elizabeth, was a FBI agent (a working institution). This scene involves a lot of danger, suspense on whats going to happen, and action.
